Two years ago, You-Siang began his life of being a farmer by rolling up his sleeves and pulling up his pant legs, because he wanted to actualize the promise he made to his father. The burden on his shoulder is heavy, but he stands on the solid ground, and these are the brand new start. He knew that the home is in a small village under the coastal range of Fuxin village, Chishang, and both sides of East Rift Valley is Central Cordillera and Coastal Ridge. The fertilized clay soil with is full of mineral was coming from the wash-away from the mountain, and the water they use is coming from the hose built from the mountain at the altitude of 500meters by his grandpa generation. The water is contamination free mineral water from the mountain area for irrigation. Also, the special geographic environment and the gap of temperature between the day time and the night time, all of these have given the birth of Chishang rice. He knew that it is the gift from the GOD which is a very precious gift.
It is his personality as well as the foolish intention; he knew the sky and the land had given the unique and perfect environment for cultivation, people can barely not to show the appreciation and keep on doing the good farming job. He believes the good quality of farmland should not be contaminated with chemical fertilizer; therefore at the beginning, he rent the farmland, he decided to have a Friendly Cultivation. Digging over the soil, dibbling the seedling, bend over for weeding…the process is difficult but it is his insistence on cultivating the poisoned -free rice. Such a determination make him proceeding the job all the way through and feel pleasant when seeing the spike of rice fly along with the wind, He is still happy even working under the sunshine with heavy sweating. Nowadays people care about the safety of food and can observe the status right from the origin of production. To enjoy the pretty landscape of Chishang and such a food and farming experience, his take action as the participation and use his heart as the insistence to always consider his friend, relatives and next generation, and keep doing it and on and on and on.
It is lucky to cultivate the rice in Chishang since there is no pollution, the foot of the mountain bearing the fertilized land and clean source of water, they are all the precious gift Always in faithful to the hope and to let people enjoy the bowl of rice and always do the right thing. In such a piece of land, it is the most natural thing it could be.
